Three-Section Wings
To allow building in a small garage or workshop, Steen Aero has introduced a three-section upper wing system for Skybolts. The new three-section upper wing was designed by Mr. Pitts, and is a three-piece ‘Stearman’ style design with a center section and removable wing panels. The benefits are many –

• No more 24 foot wing to maneuver in a 2-car garage! The wing system is much easier to construct. The wing table is now half the size! No waiting for a friend to arrive to help you move the wing.
• The upper wing can be de-mated in the field, making overland and sea transport much easier. A Skybolt with the new wing will easily fit into a “short” shipping container. Need to trailer your aircraft or project to the airport?
• The center section allows a wing tank of 18 gallons. Great for cross-country and saving your fuel for the aerobatic box.
• The new wing system is considerably stronger. The outer panels have a much shorter spar span, anchored at the ends of the Stearman style cabane.

Retrofits and Rebuilds
The three-section wing technology is adaptable to earlier Skybolts. The system can be incorporated into projects already underway or retrofitted onto an existing airplane during rebuild and recovering.
